On July 20, 1984, one of America's fitness pioneers, father of four, and author of, The Complete Book of Running, Jim Fixx, died of a heart attack while jogging - he was 52 years old. Mr. Fixx's commitment to running actualized his purpose: he helped revolutionize and reconceptualize a healthy America. Jim Fixx dedicated his life to exercise and advertising its inherent benefits, so much so, he literally ran to death. We at Running to Death find no worthier a life lived, than doing what we love - no matter the cost.
